In 1983, a small group of Sparrows Point High School Alumni from the classes of the 1930's, 40's, and 50's, joined together to activate an alumni association for their alma mater.  Their stated goals were to help the students and Sparrows Point High School beyond the point that the Baltimore County Public School system was capable.

The SPHS Alumni Association has become one of the most financially solid organizations of it's type in the country.  It proudly boasts over 1000 Life Members and is widely recognized as a model for all others.  It has never deviated from it's original purpose: to help the future alumni of Sparrows Point High School.

To date, the SPHS Alumni Association has awarded over two hundred and seventy thousand dollars in scholarships to graduating seniors and donations to the school for a wide variety of needs, such as: band uniforms, new computers, support of the year book & newspaper, and construction of the new grandstand.

The SPHS Alumni Association meets the 3rd Monday of every month - except for July & August - at 7 pm, in the Wells/McComas VFW in Edgemere.
